Melvin Village Soy Candle Company started in 2003 and is owned and operated by Jennifer Nicolay who is a busy mom of twins. Each candle we make is hand-poured right in the heart of the Lakes Region of New Hampshire. Melvin Village is a very small town that sits right on the shores of Lake Winnipesaukee. Our label has a beautiful hand-painted picture of Melvin Village Bay that includes a couple of happily swimming Loons.

We are strongly committed to producing a high-quality, natural candle that will stand above the rest. We will only use 100% Pure Soy Wax, all-cotton wicks and top quality fragrance oils and we will never add any preservatives.

Our candles are hand-poured using high-quality, 100% pure soy wax, vegetable based color and zinc/lead-free, all-cotton wicks. We follow the guidelines set forth by the NCA-ASTM Industry Standards for Candle Safety. For more information visit:

We offer scents made with only top-quality, soy-based fragrance oils. We promise never to blend our soy wax with paraffin wax. Any candle that claims to be "Soy Blend" or a "Blend of Soy" might not be pure soy as it should clearly state it on the label. Soy wax is a soft vegetable based product that will clean up easily with just soap and warm water and must only be burned in heat tested, candle safe containers. Pure soy should not be made into pillar or votive candles as it would turn to a liquid and could become very dangerous. Our core-less, all-cotton wicks help prevent smoking and soot build up which can ruin your furnishings and your lungs!
